Their 1st Dental Visit
Their 1st Dental Visit
I brought my 2 kiddos for their 1st dental visit yesterday evening. Jovan seems nervous but trying very hard not to show. HEE~! He is a scaredy cat we all know.
I have arranged for Louise to be attended by the dentist first. However due to some miscomm, Jovan was to go first. He was obviously nervous seeing the chair and equipments in the dentist room. He reluctantly climbed on to the chair and he sat upright, very straight. I asked whether he is scarred, he replied he doesn’t know. Boy’s ego I guess. :P Well, I told him just relax, it’s nothing.
The dentist started to low the chair to check on his teeth. His body is still upright not following the chair to incline. Hahaha!!! Anyway, we (dentist & me) told him to relax and lie down. Dentist confirmed that he has got 3 decayed teeth and dentist do not recommend to put fillings as it will still drop out as children tooth is too small. He got a small hole in between his 2 front teeth. The other is just next to his front tooth on the left. Dentist did some cleaning, the sound makes Jovan worry. It was pretty fast actually, it takes about 3-4minutes. Throughout the whole process, Louise was curiously looking at Jovan and the dentist. J After he got off from the chair, he complained that there is sand in his mouth. :P Must be from the polishing cream the dentist is using. Hee!

Then Louise was the next to climb on the chair. She is less nervous as she had followed Andy to a dental visit before. She roughly got an idea how it will be like. Still she was very stiff when she sat on the chair. Even when the chair was inclined, she laid down straight and stiffed with her arms straight by her sides. Dentist and nurse commented that she got nice set of teeth. She is more diligent in keeping her teeth clean. Her cleaning was slightly longer than Jovan. She was less comical so nothing much to mention about.
We proceed to the counter for payment. The polishing actually cost S$42 for 1 child. The living cost is really increasing like crazy. My goodness! Lucky my company have subsidies for my dental. IBM was very mean to their contract staff. They don’t provide dental benefit, not even $100 per year. So I have not been visiting a dentist for good 4 years. Hahaha!!!
