Louise Primary School Orientation on 01 Nov 08

01 NOV 08

On 01Nov08 was Louise’ primary school orientation day. We arrived her school at about 9.00am punctually for the briefing. We checked which class she will be in before we proceed to the hall. She will be in class P1.4. While parents were in the hall for the briefing, the children were led by teachers to tour around the school.

Jovan was bored during the long briefing. He started digging his nose again.. :S

Nowadays the children are luckier, I don’t remembered I had attended any orientation. I stepped into my new school with my mind confused and frightened. I remembered I only cried on my 3rd or 4th day. Well, it is delayed reaction on school withdrawal symptom. Haha!

After the orientation, the parents were led to one of the classrooms to fill up forms. After that, we met Louise in her future classroom. The whole session was about 2.5hrs. We spent another 30mins to queue up for her textbooks, uniforms and school shoes.

This was the classroom we were in.

I am glad they had organised this for the parents. J

Hunting for a Eating Place in Seletar Airbase and Downtown East Kids Explorer

We were trying to look for a restaurant in old Seletar airbase serving western food. Well, we did manage to find the place but unfortunately it is only open at night. Feeling hungry, we just chose a western food restaurant near to the driving range in old Seletar Camp. It is called the Beavers.

We were bored waiting for food to be served so we took some photos.
Louise wearing my sunglasses. She looks like a star. HEE~

Hmm...Younger version of Ku Tian Le??

The food is ok. They served Swensen style of dishes and the portion is pretty big. You can take a look at Jovan’s burger. ;)

Andy chose the steak but he don't like it. What do you expect right. We are not in a posh restaurant.... :S Com'on Andy Chan!

Sorry if it looks "er xin". I only remembered to take the pic after I am half way through.... :P I had fish & chips. My all time fav. :)

Louise had pasta. She loves pasta and hers is good!

Jovan chose burger. I think he regretted. The burger was too big for his mouth and his teeth don't have the strength to chew off the meaty beef patties! HAHA~

Kid Explorer
We proceed to Kid Explorer at Downtown East after lunch. Louise and Jovan tried rock climbing and they did it better this time round. Bravo!

My 1st French Pedicure :)))

This is my 1st time doing French pedicure. The manicurist thinks I should be able to accept a more modern way of doing French pedi. So this is the end result. I like it!

Kiddos 1st Dental Visit on 15 Oct 08

15 Oct 08

Their 1st Dental Visit

I brought my 2 kiddos for their 1st dental visit yesterday evening. Jovan seems nervous but trying very hard not to show. HEE~! He is a scaredy cat we all know.

I have arranged for Louise to be attended by the dentist first. However due to some miscomm, Jovan was to go first. He was obviously nervous seeing the chair and equipments in the dentist room. He reluctantly climbed on to the chair and he sat upright, very straight. I asked whether he is scarred, he replied he doesn’t know. Boy’s ego I guess. :P Well, I told him just relax, it’s nothing.

The dentist started to low the chair to check on his teeth. His body is still upright not following the chair to incline. Hahaha!!! Anyway, we (dentist & me) told him to relax and lie down. Dentist confirmed that he has got 3 decayed teeth and dentist do not recommend to put fillings as it will still drop out as children tooth is too small. He got a small hole in between his 2 front teeth. The other is just next to his front tooth on the left. Dentist did some cleaning, the sound makes Jovan worry. It was pretty fast actually, it takes about 3-4minutes. Throughout the whole process, Louise was curiously looking at Jovan and the dentist. J After he got off from the chair, he complained that there is sand in his mouth. :P Must be from the polishing cream the dentist is using. Hee!

Then Louise was the next to climb on the chair. She is less nervous as she had followed Andy to a dental visit before. She roughly got an idea how it will be like. Still she was very stiff when she sat on the chair. Even when the chair was inclined, she laid down straight and stiffed with her arms straight by her sides. Dentist and nurse commented that she got nice set of teeth. She is more diligent in keeping her teeth clean. Her cleaning was slightly longer than Jovan. She was less comical so nothing much to mention about.

We proceed to the counter for payment. The polishing actually cost S$42 for 1 child. The living cost is really increasing like crazy. My goodness! Lucky my company have subsidies for my dental. IBM was very mean to their contract staff. They don’t provide dental benefit, not even $100 per year. So I have not been visiting a dentist for good 4 years. Hahaha!!!

Poison Decay

Real puffed fish

15 Oct 08

Jovan’s Poison Decay….

We won this stuffed toy from The Escape at Downtown East. The toy is an ugly puffed fish. There were 2 funny incidents “created” by Jovan with this fish.

(1) There was one night on the weekday. I had already tucked them to bed. Andy reached home and quietly sneaked into the kiddos’ room. He saw Jovan stiffing the toy and then the next moment he threw it on the floor. Louise saw it and asked him why he threw his fish away. He replied because the fish is a poison.

Well…. This may not be so funny.

(2) It was another night on a Sunday. I think was on 12 Oct. As usual, after reading a story to them, I started arranging their bed for them to sleep. I threw the fish to him and I said, “Nah, your Poison Decay”. Jovan smiled to me, flipped open the lips of the fish and kissed the fish. After seeing this I asked him why he said his fish got poison. He replied because his fish is made from China! And really, the fish is manufactured from China. HAHAHA~~~

I guess kids also condemn their products. :PPPP

33rd BD of My Evil Twin

01 Oct 08

On 30 Sep night, we (whole family) went to my evil twin’s house for MJ and her mini BD celebration. The BD celebration was supposed to be a surprise for her. Before that I went to Polar wanting to buy a My Melody cake for her. Fortunately or unfortunately it wasn’t available. Fortunately is because the cake is made of butter cream.. so its…. Eee… so rich and oily. Unfortunately is because I know she loves My Melody a lot. Well, ended up I bought a cake from Prima Deli, a black forest cake. It’s with cherry jam instead of conventional blueberry jam.

We were supposed to reach her place at 930-945pm. Who knows Andy was so late and we only reached her place at 1030pm. I had waited angrily at home because when I called him at 805pm, he told me he was almost done with him dinner. However, at 920pm he wasn’t home yet. I was so mad because I did inform him about the timing and he agreed to it. He is really a rubber time person. And do you wanna know why he was so late. After dinner, he still proceeded to cigar bar for cigar! Wa Lau!

I was so fuming mad that I refused to talk to him throughout the journey to Julie’s place. The only time I spoke was to direct him the way. Actually I had planned for many excuses in case evil twin asked why I am holding this big plastic bag. But… I was so damn mad that the moment she opened the door, I was walked into the kitchen with a straight face, leaving her no chance to notice a thing. Hahaha! :PPPPPP

She complained she got no make-up on. HEE!!!

We played MJ for a while and nearing to 12mn of 01 Oct 08, I just excused myself and walked to kitchen to prepare. She only suspected then that I had bought a cake for her. HEE~ We sang BD songs for her (English & Mandarin). She made wishes for twice…. And the cake was yummy! She told Joey to buy this cake for her next time if she has got cravings when she is pregnant. Hi! Hi! Joey It’s from Prima Deli. Dun forget ;)

I wondered what is Joey doing to Jovan??? They are in awakard position!
Everyone was enjoying... Julie made her 2nd wish.... Or same wish twice...
Blowing out the candles... Jovan didn't want to give Julie a BD kiss. Happy Julie clapping her hands...
Cutting the cake....
We had good time, our kiddos too. They chased and also being chased by the rabbit (aka Butter). Kakakakaka ~~~

Wedding Dinner during World 1st F1 Nite Race 2008

29 Sep 08

We attended one of Andy nieces wedding on the Sunday night when F1 cars roaring loud at Temasek Boulevard for the 1st F1 night race. It was not just the 1st F1 night race… it was also our 1st time experiencing wedding dinner with “qi yue guei tai” live band.

Jovan & Louise enjoying the cereal prawns...

They invited a few renowned entertainers one of them is “Ming Zhu” sisters. A DJ from FM97.2 was invited too. He named is Chen Jian Bing. I have never seen him personally. This was my 1st encounter and I find him pretty ah beng. :P

They are the renowned "Ming Zhu" sisters.
He is one of Andy's nephew not one of the entertainers. Look at his hair do. I am keeping to photo and will show him 10yrs later. Hahahaha!!!

We reached home about 11.30pm. Everyone was tired, Andy drank too much again. I think most of the time he drink more than the host and got himself drunk. I think he is stupid. Yeap… stupid.

A Family Outing

20 Sep 2008

Andy requested not to have kiddos sent to him mum’s place on Friday night because he had been travelling and he missed quality time with them. So we planned to do something on Saturday morning… we don’t usually have much Saturday spent together.

We had tim sum at East Ocean in the morning. The food is still so good! Actually I was still recovering from stomach flu so I couldn’t take too much chilli. L so sad…. L We sure enjoyed our brunch though. HEEE~

After the enjoyable tim sum, the quarrelsome Andy requested to view cars again. :S 1st we went to the new BMW showroom in Leng Kee. It is his all time favourite showroom. For me??? I have been to BMW showroom so many times that I feel so sick looking at their cars. I watched cartoon when I was there. Daddy & Jovan enjoyed the most. *v*

Then we went to Audi, the sale girl was very professional and friendly. She told she just ordered an Audi TT. Wow! Must be good money ya. Then we went to Benz showroom. There were very few cars in their showroom. I suspect they are going to have new design soon. The cars were sold so much cheaper. There wasn’t any SLK & CLK model in the showroom. The sale person sucks. I wonder he knows what he is selling. So the stay in Benz was a quick one. Then we proceeded home. FINALLY!!!

Once we reached home, there was no time to waste. We quickly packed our barang barang and headed for Big Splash. It was a hot Saturday but when we were about to reach Big Splash, rain started to pour on the highway. SHIT! Strangely, when we reached Big Splash, it wasn’t raining there. (????) Thank god! But!!!!! Who knows Big Splash had already closed down. L kuah kuah kuah……

Andy wasn’t discouraged by it at all. He quickly drove us to Downtown East, they have a theme pool there. Well, and who knows when we were there, the pool was under renovation. :”((( kuah… kuah… kuah… kuah….boi yoh yoh yoh….

Well, we ended up in The Escape to take the rides. Louise surprised us by taking the “superman” ride.
Then she requested to go for roller coaster. Andy wanted to take Viking. However, Jovan wasn’t qualified to take the ride because he is too short. Louise accompanied Andy for the ride. The Viking started out slow, but when it reaches the full height, Louise started crying. She was so frightened! I was like, oh shit! I had forgotten that she is afraid of height. The falling part when taking the Viking freaked her. We felt so bad.

Next, I took the log ride alone. Andy was there comforting Louise and Jovan couldn’t play because he is too short again. :P HEE~ After the ride my shorts were wet through.

After these, we played the mini boat with water gun…the whole family got wet. HAHA! We had lots of fun. We also tried the race car like game. There was this auntie in front of driving so s_l_o_w…..she hogged everybody’s way by driving in the centre. It was not so much fun. Stupid auntie! Don’t dare to drive fast just keep one side loh! Anyway we went to bang her car although we are not supposed to. :p This is always a by right and by left rule. HEE~
We had few more rounds of the mini boat and superman ride. We played the horse racing, water gun & throwing the rings to bottles game and we proceeded for dinner. After dinner, it was home sweet home. J It was an enjoyable Saturday.

~~~ THE END ~~~
Breakfast with BIG Babies!
22 Sep 08
I was on morning leave that day. Well…if I am on leave, I will always try to bring kiddos out for breakfast. Got to do bonding mah… McDonald’s is children all time favourite. So just as you guess ;)
Louise was first to climb on the baby chair and exclaimed, “I am a baby. I am a baby”. Then followed by Jovan who climbed on it and sat down. Well 2 BIG babies. HEE~
Buying Lanterns
Mid-Autumn should have not just mooncakes but with lanterns for children too. It is our yearly routine to go Chinatown to buy the lanterns and to have a look at their decoration in Chinatown. So this year without fail, we were there again. :))))
We were walking around Chinatown...soaking into the mid-autumn atmosphere....and the lanterns outside "fuo ya" temple caught our attention. They are all beautifully painting by children from different primary schools.
Louise & Lanterns...
Then we decided to go into "fuo ya" temple to have a look. The temple has got many, many, many statues of different buddha. They go by chinese horoscope and types of blessing... the smaller buddhas are built and craved all the way up the wall, almost to the ceiling. Very nice :)))
We spotted a mini and big lantern inside the temple and got the kiddos to take pictures.
Mini Lanterns
Big Lanterns
After walking around the temple... we went back for our lantern hunt in the pasar malam. Louise got herself bunny lantern (candle-lit) and Jovan got himself a spiderman lantern (battery operated) :PP... he said he is afraid of fire.... :PPPP
